Boys lacrosse players to watch

A 6-foot-1, 195-pound midfielder, Campbell is signed to play NCAA Division I lacrosse for Hobart in Geneva, N.Y. Last season, he earned second team Post-Dispatch All-Metro honors after helping lead the Junior Billikens to the Missouri Scholastic Lacrosse Association State Championship semifinals with 39 goals and nine assists. This season, Campbell has 11 goals and three assists to go along with a team-leading 55 shots in SLUH’s first give games.

The 5-foot-6, 150-pound midfielder is a returning first team all-state selection as a specialist after leading the area last season in faceoff percentage (.779). He also scored 32 goals and had 32 ground balls. As a sophomore in 2021, he led the area in ground balls with an average of 12.31 per game. Also a second team Post-Dispatch All-Metro pick last year, Goldstein will play for Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. He has won 44 of 53 faceoffs (.830) in Ladue’s first two games this year.

A returning second team all-state and third team Post-Dispatch All-Metro selection who last season helped lead the Pioneers to a runner-up finish in Missouri Scholastic Lacrosse Association Show Me Cup. Jansen scored one goal and had a game-leading 14 ground balls in a 12-11 loss to Wentzville in the Show Me Cup final. The 6-foot-1 and 170-pound midfielder led the area in ground balls per game at 13.44 and was third in faceoff percentage. Will play at the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

The attackman’s performance has helped the Red Devils start this season 6-0 as they seek a third consecutive finish in the Missouri Scholastic Lacrosse Association’s final four — and perhaps more. Rossiter has scored multiple goals in each Chaminade game this season for totals of 19 goals, 16 assists and 36 points, which ranks second in the area. He has 86 goals and 36 assists for 123 points in his career, including 41 goals last season as the Red Devils posted a 13-5 record in their second successive semifinal season.

Signed to play NCAA Division I lacrosse for Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y. The 6-foot lacrosse midfielder is fresh off helping De Smet’s ice hockey team as a defenseman to its first Mid-States Challenge Cup title since 2010. Ruder has been close to championship status on the lacrosse field with the Spartans, as well, as he’s played for MSLA State Championship runners-up each of the last two seasons. As a junior, Ruder had nine goals and 11 assists to go along with 57 ground balls. He scored once in De Smet’s 11-10 victory against Chaminade in the MSLA semifinals, then had five ground balls in the title game loss to MICDS.
