MICDS senior co-captain Willy Carpenter said: “Having been a captain last year and falling short, to come back and actually bring it home brings me to tears.”
“I think that was the best goal I scored all year,” Marquette sophomore Kade McSpadden said.
Willy Carpenter led MICDS in both goals (38) and points (52) last season and also contributed 55 ground balls. He brings versatility to the field beyond just scoring.

MICDS senior midfielder Willy Carpenter is the Post-Dispatch All-Metro boys lacrosse player of the year.
CREVE COEUR — Two of the area’s better boys lacrosse squads, De Smet and Chaminade, squared off Thursday evening at De Smet.
MICDS has won the last eight Missouri Scholastic Lacrosse Association’s State Cup boys championships. Last year, the Rams capped an 18-1 season by rallying from a first-quarter deficit to knock off De Smet 7-4 in the title game at Lindenwood University.
Jack Ramey recognized the sound and knew what it meant.
